During the summer past, an EAST student, Bryttani Bartlett, took on a project that would help a greater part of the community. The United Way of Garland County, a non-profit organization that carries out community projects, provides volunteers, and produces funds to support other non-profit organizations, needed a promotional video to send to other institutions to fund the program and to exhibit during speeches and presentations. Bryttani visited Abilities Unlimited, Piney Grove United Methodist Church, and the Chartable Christian Medical Clinic, an institution that serves as a school and workplace for mentally disabled adults, a church that serves as a Project HOPE Food Bank, and a clinic that serves people in the community without proper health insurance to interview people affected by United Way. Using her extensive knowledge of videography and editing, she produced a video worthy of an award. In fact, she did receive an award; she was awarded a certificate of appreciation and encouraged to make another video for the following year. The EAST program takes pride in Bryttani’s great success in helping the United Way of Garland County.
